How does osmiculture work?

Wild bees are solitary and not aggressive towards humans or animals, as their way of life means they do not need to defend a nest. Black Systems Agri-Tubes have been specially developed for osmiums, as bee houses. The wild bees lay their eggs in the stalks from March to August and protect the nest with a cover of soil or digested leaves. The larva develops in the autumn. The beekeeper opens the stalks, removes the cocoons for cleaning, health checks and sorting. The cocoons are stored in a cool place until the bees are needed in the flowering season of the fruit trees. And the egg-laying cycle begins again.
